Why doesn't moderate alcohol consumption diminish IQ? - alcohol dementia more condition_symptoms

Alcohol is a toxin that destroys nerve cells in the brain, electricity and dendrites. However, it seems to have no effect (or the effect is too small to notice)) on the intelligence (or IQ of moderate drinkers. Develop after several years of excessive drinking, many alcoholics something similar to dementia, but this is not the case for moderate drinkers (those who drink at least twice a week). Why is this so?

Dementia in alcoholics during the difficult last few years is a product of alcohol, poor diet, which comes with long-term abuse, and have the metabolism, the disruption of thiamine in the context.

It is important to remember that most drugs have toxicity thresholds. Take 400 mg of acetaminophen a few times a week is not the same as taking 1000 mg paracetamol say several times a day, and not just below, 20,000 mg once.

We actually see neurological disorders in heavy drinkers - the equivalent of the top high single dose. For the moderate drinker, but to manifest not only harm themselves in the life of a man.
